Is the ceremony indoors or outdoors?
The ceremony will take place indoors at the Chapel of the Holy Cross, one of Sedona’s most iconic and spiritual landmarks. It’s a Catholic church nestled high in the red rocks with breathtaking views. The reception will follow just 15 minutes away at Cucina Rustica, in the Village of Oak Creek.
What should we expect from the ceremony?
The ceremony will be a Catholic wedding Mass, held at the Chapel of the Holy Cross. It will include the Liturgy of the Eucharist (Communion).
If you’re Catholic, you’re welcome to receive the Eucharist. If you’re not Catholic or prefer not to receive, you can either remain seated or come forward with your arms crossed over your chest to receive a blessing from the priest—this is a common and respectful tradition, so don’t worry if it’s new to you. We welcome you to do whichever feels most comfortable.
The ceremony will be reverent, meaningful, and rooted in our faith. We’re so grateful to share this moment with you.
What should I wear?
The dress code is black tie optional—so think formal, but feel free to skip the tux if that’s not your style. Long dresses and suits are lovely.
Do you have a color palette?
Sure! These are some of our inspo colors. We’d love for guests to stick to desert-inspired tones and soft neutrals—think warm rusts, browns, terracotta, blush, taupe, dusty rose, sand, and similar shades. Please avoid white or ivory.
What’s the weather like in Sedona in June?
June in Sedona is warm and sunny, with daytime highs usually in the mid to upper 80s, and cooler evenings in the 50s–60s. We recommend bringing layers for later in the day, especially if you’ll be out stargazing or celebrating into the evening. Check out the "Weather" section of our webpage for details! We have also prepared a handy packing list to help you pack.
Will we have free time?
Definitely! We’ve intentionally built in downtime for relaxing, exploring Sedona, or just hanging out together at the house/hotel. If you want to do a short hike, go shopping, or grab a drink in town, let us know! Don't be shy with ideas! We know everyone has different lengths of stay, and we don't want anyone to feel over-scheduled. We’ll try to coordinate fun little outings that fit everyone’s vibe.
Can we take photos and post them?
Yes, please do! We just ask that during the ceremony, phones stay tucked away so everyone can be present. Aside from that, post away! We even created a PhotoCircle group where you can upload and view everyone’s photos all in one place! Info is in the “Photos” section of the site. Just download the app and join via our link :) We’ll also share our professional photos when we get them back.
Is there anything we can help with?
Honestly, just being there means the world to us. We’ve tried to plan everything to run smoothly, but if you have questions or need anything along the way, just ask. Thank you SO much for being part of this special moment in our lives! We feel blessed with support.
Why are we being asked to arrive at the chapel by 4:00 PM if the ceremony starts at 5:30 PM?
The Chapel of the Holy Cross is a popular tourist destination, usually open to the public daily until 5. To ensure a private and serene atmosphere for our ceremony, the chapel staff will be closing the gates at 4:30 PM. Once they’re closed, you won’t be able to enter. That’s why we’re asking everyone to arrive by 4:00 PM—to ensure you get in before the gates close, find parking, hop in a golf cart shuttle, take in the views, and get settled. (Bonus: you’ll get to witness us exchange our private vows before the ceremony starts.) Thank you for being timely—it means so much to us!
Where is everyone staying?
Everyone is settled nearby! The bride, groom, and bride’s family are staying at a VRBO on Cathedral Lane, just a short walk to the chapel. Much of the groom's family is staying in the Village of Oak Creek at the Hilton at Bell Rock, or at the Hilton Vacation Club Sedona Summit in West Sedona.
Will transportation be provided?
Since it’s a small group and folks are staying at different places, we’re all making our own way to each location. Don’t worry—Sedona is super easy to navigate, and all venues are close. The chapel has parking, and golf cart shuttles will bring you up to the entrance. We can also also coordinate ride-shares through the GroupMe chat if folks want to carpool for group outings!
What’s the parking situation like?
At the Chapel of the Holy Cross:
There’s a parking lot at the base of the chapel with free golf cart shuttles up to the entrance.
At Cucina Rustica:
There’s plenty of parking at the restaurant. Super easy.
Are there rideshares or taxis in Sedona?
In our experience, Sedona doesn’t have a large supply of ride-shares or taxis, especially in the evenings or early mornings. We strongly recommend renting a car if possible or coordinating with other guests to carpool. Most places are just a short drive from one another, but it’s good to plan ahead—looking to spontaneously Uber may leave you waiting. Our GroupMe chat is a great place to link up if you need a ride!
